Building organizations.
Connecting ecosystems.
Leaving things better.

For more than two decades I've had the privilege of leading, advising, and partnering with some of the most innovative people in financial services and technology. Today I write about what I've learned, lead LoanNFT, and invest my strategic energy into a small number of meaningful board and advisory relationships.

Randy Stolp

The kind of leader who connects the dots others miss

My career has never fit neatly into a single lane — and I've come to believe that's a feature, not a bug. I've led a credit union service organization, built technology platforms, navigated complex partnerships, and now I'm building LoanNFT, a fintech platform that tokenizes loan assets to transform how financial institutions participate in each other's growth.

Along the way I've mentored executives, served on committees, advised founders, and built relationships across the credit union, CUSO, fintech, and venture communities. Those relationships — and the perspective that comes from operating across disciplines — are among the things I'm most grateful for.

I write about leadership, partnership, innovation, and the messy, human work of building better organizations. Not because I have all the answers, but because thinking out loud is how I keep rising — and I've found others often find something useful in the process.

How I Work With Leaders →

Curiosity over credentials

I believe the most valuable leaders are generalists who think across disciplines. The best solutions usually live at the intersection of ideas, not inside silos.

Partnership over projects

The most meaningful work I've done has come through sustained relationships — not one-off engagements. I prefer to invest deeply in a small number of the right opportunities.

Execution over ideas

Ideas are abundant. The parked car doesn't move itself. I'm drawn to organizations that understand the distance between a great strategy and a great result — and want help closing it.

Planting seeds you'll never harvest

The best leaders build things that outlast them. I think about legacy — not as a monument, but as the quiet compounding of decisions made with the long game in mind.

If you're looking for ongoing strategic partnership, let's talk about what that looks like.

Over the years, many of the most valuable conversations I've had started with someone reaching out for a quick question. Sometimes those conversations become something more. I've realized I'd like to be more intentional about where I invest that energy — and I'm selectively open to formal board and advisory relationships where I can contribute over time.

  • Organizations navigating innovation, partnership, or leadership transitions
  • Founders and CEOs who want a thought partner, not just an advisor
  • Credit union, CUSO, fintech, and technology ecosystems
  • Long-term relationships built on trust and shared values
  • Conversations that start with curiosity and grow from there

Reflections on leadership, partnership, and the work of building better organizations

I write to think. These pieces explore ideas I'm working through — about leadership, innovation, and what it means to build something that lasts. Credit unions are often the setting. The ideas, I hope, travel further.

The Shape of Progress

We celebrate beginnings and endings. What we rarely talk about is the messy middle — where the real work happens and where the best ideas are actually built.

The right conversation starts with a simple introduction.

I'm always happy to make an introduction or answer a quick question. If you're thinking about something deeper — a board seat, an advisory relationship, a strategic conversation — this is the right place to start. Tell me a little about what you're working on, and we'll go from there.

I read every message personally. I can't promise a response to every inquiry, but I do promise to give each one genuine consideration.
